Introducing Our Charity Partners

Meet the good causes we support.

Our purpose at Boehringer Ingelheim is to transform lives for generations, and we are dedicated to improving access to healthcare especially for underserved communities. Our charity partners for 2023/24 embody these commitments and we are so inspired to be contributing to their fantastic work.

As nominated and voted for by our UK employees, we are proud to be supporting two exceptional organisations: StreetVet and Alzheimer’s Society.

These charities are making a real difference to the lives of both people and animals by offering essential medical care, funding research, offering emotional support, and giving a voice to those who struggle to be heard.  Read on to find out more about the impactful work of each organisation and how they are transforming lives.

StreetVet

StreetVet is an award-winning charity that provides essential veterinary services to the pets of people experiencing homelessness in the UK. Inspired by the incredible bond between a homeless man and his dog, the charity has a team of voluntary vets and nurses who work with outreach organisations. Since 2016, they have helped to care for over 1000 street dogs. The relationship between homeless people and their dogs is profound, with the health of their pets being a life-shaping priority for many people experiencing homelessness. Thanks to StreetVet and its team of volunteers, more homeless dogs can access fundamental vet care.

Alzheimer's Society (UK)

There are around 900,000 people in the UK with dementia, and this is projected to rise to 1.6 million by 2040. Alzheimer's Society believes that people with dementia, and those who care for them, have the right to high-quality services and support. The charity is committed to making a real difference in the lives of those affected by the condition. This is achieved through their efforts to empower and support individuals and families through every step of their journey. Whether it's through campaigning for greater understanding, funding groundbreaking research, raising awareness, or providing essential information and training, the charity is determined to be a beacon of hope for those affected by Alzheimer's.
