A different view of enterprise

We need leaders who inspire fresh thinking, drive purposeful innovation, and understand how to get the best from our most important resource: our people. And we prefer to find and develop them from among those people – part of our commitment to supporting continuous professional growth. To do that, we have a range of programs in place to help realize leadership potential and build the skills you need to help us chart the way forward.

A different view of enterprise

The Executive in Residence program is an individually tailored Global leadership development opportunity that offers our executives intensive placements – lasting from two weeks to six months – with Making More Health (MMH) organizations. There, they work alongside dynamic social entrepreneurs and their teams on strategically relevant projects, gaining an entirely new perspective on a different set of challenges. We also offer MMH Insights: a week-long intensive and disruptive immersion in the challenges of healthcare in underserved communities with all profits going back into social enterprise projects in India.

“It’s not traditional leadership training. It's about instilling a set of values for the future and the culture within our company.”

Manuela Pastore, Global Lead, Making More Health, Boehringer Ingelheim

Global leadership development

“We recognize and encourage potential in everyone – even as a leader, at Boehringer Ingelheim, you’re still discovering your true potential. Exposure is an accelerated global leadership development program, delivered in partnership with the IESE Business School. It’s focused on learning more about our international operations and about yourself as a future international leader. It will take you on a six-month journey, with learning components that expose you to meaningful growth experiences in the global business environment and help you to develop still further as a leader. I appreciate the opportunity to work with diverse people and cultures around the globe.”

Matthias Engelbrecht, Global Supply Business Manager

Agile leaders for a changing world

Success for today and tomorrow, depends on constant honing of our leadership agility. That’s why we offer “Connectivity”, a series of leadership development interventions aimed at helping leaders like you to refine the skills you need to excel in an uncertain, complex, and ever-changing business world. Over three months, participants will complete two face-to-face modules and a range of virtual supporting activities – all aimed at turning different perspectives into unified strengths to underpin our performance for the future.

“Every three or four years, I’ve had the opportunity to develop myself and take cross-promotions.”

Dr. Lothar Halmer, Head of Quality
